Ideas Pitch Showing Ideas and written Proposal
This is my SWOT analysis from unit 11. From this I understand weaknesses that I will come across during this production and I aim to improve on these weaknesses.
For example:
The lone wolf picture shows that our "hero" is by himself on this journey.
Hunted shows that he is constantly on the run due to a team trying to kill him.
Fighting obviously means that they catch up to him and a fight insures.
The team hunting him are specialists.
It's possible that he escapes however they continue to chase him into a forest.
And there will be guns.
Section 1: Rationale/Review (Level 2 approx 50 words, Level 3 approx 100 words) | |||
What it is I am going to create
I plan to create a short action film that will display fast paced action and fight scenes. I will take inspiration from the YouTube channel Corridor Digital to create an effective piece. The purpose of the film is to display my progression through my 3 years in Media and it will allow me to showcase my skills as a director and editor for the future. My targeted audience will be males 14+ as this is generally the preferred action genre audience.
Describe what your piece looks like & explain equipment
I want to film in a forest with somebody being chased as it allows me to rope in the viewers with them wanting to know why the person is being chased, I want to implement an apocalyptic / neo noir feel to my piece which will be achieved by applying a lumetri effect in Post-Production. I will be using natural lighting because I am filming outside and I will need to acquire camera-stabilizing equipment to smoothly capture my fast paced action scenes.

Section 2: Project Concept (Level 2 approx 100 words, Level 3 approx 200 words)

Concept: How you will create your piece.
In order to produce my film I will need to investigate techniques stunt actors and directors use to perceive the viewer in thinking people actually get hit. Due to the nature of action films I will need to choreograph the fight scenes to reduce the risks that could happen during the filming.
I will be researching into Vladimir Propp’s Character Theory which states every story follows a narrative structure and in every story you can find the same character types (Hero, Villain, Helper). I will be applying this theory into my production by creating a narrative with a hero, villain and helper. Alongside the character theory I will also be looking at the action genre codes and conventions and applying those to my production.
I will be taking inspiration from Dji Film School – Foot Chase because as an action director this is how I would like most of my action productions to look/feel like.

Look at sections 1 & 2 and identify strengths and weaknesses
What is it you expect to gain fr02............om this experience?
From sections 1 and 2 I have identified my weaknesses that I expect will be a slight hindrance to my project. These weaknesses are location scouting, camera operating and applying theories to my work, however I plan to study media theories that I can and will apply to my project to make it more successful. I will also learn how to correctly scout out locations that will make my idea more realistic. Ideally I will learn to use a camera to its full extent and to create a professional piece.
My strengths that I identified within my project are mainly Post-Production techniques and skills that I can apply to my piece to bring my vision alive successfully. Being a team leader and punctual will attribute towards the effectiveness of shooting my film.
From this production I expect to learn camera techniques that will make my future productions unique and associated with me.
